Tribulation
If the 70th week of Daniel began would I know it?
The Bible states in Daniel that the Antichrist will make a covenant of peace for 7 years with Israel and "the many."
Daniel 9:27 (NIV) He will confirm a covenant with many for one ´seven.' In the middle of the ´seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."
In the middle of the seven years the Antichrist wil set up what scripture calls the "Abomination of Desolation."
2 Thessalonians 2 describes this in more detail...
2 Thess 2:3 (NIV) Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
It goes on to say...
2 Thess 2:9 (NIV) The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
Now, as we look for the coming of the 70th Week, we know a covenant will be signed. However, there is evidence that this may not be common knowledge. In Matthew 24 Jesus told His disciples...
Matt 24:9 (NIV) "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 2 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 4 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. 5 "So when you see standing in the holy place ´the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand-- 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Jesus tells His disciples that "then" there will be persecution and many will turn away from the faith and betray each other. As He is describing this He then says to His disciples "So, when you see..." Therefore, He is telling them what to look for to know that these things are coming to pass. But, He does not say, "So, when you see the covenant signed..." What He does tell them to look for IS the Abomination of Desolation. I believe this is evidence that we could be in the 70th Week of Daniel and not realize it until the Abomination of Desolation takes place.

- You have Jesus walking with the Jewish remnant when they come back to the city but how does he get there if he is with the Saints in Heaven? I am assuming that in the rapture he goes back to heaven with the saints. If he comes down again isn't that a separate rapture for the Jews or are they not raptured with the rest of the saints?

- Is there any scripture that would seem to indicate how long the persecution of the church will last before the rapture comes? I was pretrib for many years until a new friend pointed out the discrepancies of the pretrib view and the scriptural sense of the prewrath view. But I am so sick at heart and scared of the years to come that I hope I die before it all starts to happen. Do you think most prewrath people feel this way?
