Tribulation
Can you tell me how you account for the Rapture happening at a time of terrible anguish (Matt 24:22) and yet people are saying 'peace and safety'?
You are confusing two separate issues. The "peace and safety" relates to the covenant that Antichrist makes with Israel at the beginning of the 70th Week. The OT prophesies about this covenant...
Isaiah 28:15 (NIV) You boast, "We have entered into a covenant with death, with the grave we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place."
But it is answered...
Isaiah 28:18 (NIV) Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the grave will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it.
First Thessalonians is where you find the "peace and safety" quote.
1 Thess 5:1 (NIV) Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
This is a general reference to the time when Israel makes this covenant with Antichrist and feel "safe," but we know that he will turn on them with a vengeance. The "woman" or Israel will be protected and the church will suffer persecution, but "immediately after the distress of those days" (Matt 24:29) the rapture will take place for the born-again Christians, and those that are left behind (being the lost including the Jews) will suffer through the Day of the Lord's wrath.

- You have Jesus walking with the Jewish remnant when they come back to the city but how does he get there if he is with the Saints in Heaven? I am assuming that in the rapture he goes back to heaven with the saints. If he comes down again isn't that a separate rapture for the Jews or are they not raptured with the rest of the saints?
